Topics pertinent to Parkinson's disease patients and their caregivers will be discussed at a free, educational seminar on Thursday, March 16 from 1-4pm at the Leventhal-Sidman Jewish Community Center (333 Nahanton Street) in Newton.
“Taboo Topics in Parkinson’s Disease” will cover social aspects of communication, mood and medical illness, and the value of a palliative care team. Featured speakers are Linda Tickle-Degnen, PhD, OTR/L, Professor in the Department of Occupational Therapy at Tufts University; Adam Stern, MD, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and Instructor in Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School; and Roy Freeman, MD, Professor of Neurology at Harvard Medical School and Director of the Center for Autonomic and Peripheral Nerve Disorders at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
