Bernie Frydenberg, a craftsman and resident of Meriden, CT, was 14 years old when the Germans invaded Poland in 1939. Like most of the Jewish population of his home-town, Demblin, Poland, Bernie was sent to a concentration camp. Unlike most of the Jews sent to concentration camps, he survived.  He was imprisoned at Buchenwald, and liberated from Theresienstadt 73 years ago on May 8th, 1945.

You are invited to bear witness to his testimony of survival, how he learned a trade, and built a new life after the war.

A brief Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Memorial Day) candle lighting ceremony will precede the presentation.
