We are a traditional egalitarian congregation, with both genders participating fully in worship and leadership. Our membership of about 350 families includes the shomer shabbos and the less observant; Ashkenazim and Sephardim, converts and kohanim, married and single, toddlers and great-grandparents, serious daveners and those hoping to schmooze at Kiddush. Siddur Sim Shalom is our prayerbook and we have minyanim both morning and evening, 365 days a year. Every Shabbat we have a lively morning service attended by more than 100. Our mincha service is followed by Seuda Shlishit (3rd Shabbat meal), singing, ma'ariv, and Havdalah. Our excellent three-day-per-week Hebrew School teaches Jewish History, Bible, and Ethics, as well as Hebrew Language. We have a large library, and a lively congregational life which includes Shabbat dinners, Hanukah parties, dinner dances, Purim spiels, and other programs. Youth Groups, Brotherhood, Sisterhood, Social Action Committee, several chavurot, and Adult Education are all active. Our staff includes Rabbi Joel Pitkowsky, Cantor Marina Shemesh, Executive Director Judy Moseley, and Director of Congregational Learning Me'ir Sherer. Alan Harris is President. We have been in Worcester for over 80 years and our current campus includes a Jewish Community Day School. We extend to you a warm welcome to our shul. Please visit us.
