Campus Chabads

   Chabad anticipates and serves the needs of the campus community on a social, educational, and spiritual level, acting as a home-away-from-home.  At Chabad, every member of the Jewish people is part of our family, and all are welcomed, regardless of background or level of observance.  Chabad-Lubavitch serves hundreds of college campuses worldwide.  Students at more than 100 schools are served by on-site Chabad Student Centers.

The word 'Chabad" is a Hebrew acronym for 3 types of intellect: chachmah (wisdom), binah (comprehension), and da'at (knowledge).  Chabad applies these faculties in its philosophy of belief and practice, which includes valuing the importance and unique mission of each living creature.  The network of Chabad centers has expanded greatly since the late 1940s, when Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneersohn of righteous memory was appointed by his father to head the newly-founded educational and social service arms of the Chabad movement.  For more information on Chabad, go to http://www.chabad.org/.
