Torah Study with Rabbi Alan Ullman
An engaging and interactive approach to studying Torah open to all
Rabbi Ullman’s very popular Torah Study sessions will be offered once a month on Sunday afternoons starting in January 2010 – these are open to all and do not require any prerequisite knowledge or experience.
Rabbi Ullman brings Torah to life by using the “Socratic” method to elicit thinking about the text in new ways. By facilitating dynamic interaction and questioning of text, he enables us to view Torah in its ancient context as well as in its relevance to our lives today. Rabbi Ullman helps us to see the wisdom of Torah as a way to guide our own spiritual journeys and to find the scared in our everyday lives. A brief text is introduced at the beginning of each class.
Come to listen to the text, to the others and to your self. Come to share. Come to hear the voice of the sacred in the text. And come to bring forth the sacred that is within us and the sacred that is outside of us to life.
Sundays 12:30-2:00 PM: Jan. 3, Feb. 7, Mar. 7, April 4, May 2, and June 6.
Drop-ins are welcome!
Non-members $18/class.
For non-members to sign up for all 9 sessions, please send your payment of $108 to Kerem Shalom.
