Solomon Schechter Day School is a premier Jewish independent school for children ages 18 months through eighth grade. We offer a rich core curriculum with a solid academic foundation. Critical thinking and depth of understanding are common threads that run through our curriculum from language arts to math and science, from Jewish texts to the arts. Early second language acquisition, beginning with our youngest students, leads to Hebrew fluency and opens cognitive pathways to future language learning and increased mathematical aptitude. Through Schechter’s significant investment in technology we differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners. Across the board, we encourage students to develop their strengths and to realize their full potential academically, spiritually, artistically, physically and morally.

JCDS, Boston’s Jewish Community Day School, is a nationally recognized
pluralist day school serving students in grades K-8 from families across a wide spectrum of Jewish beliefs and practices.  The school offers an excellent academic program that integrates Judaic and general studies. English and Hebrew are both used throughout the day as languages of instruction and communication. Low student to staff ratios permit individualized attention. The school’s hallmarks are its focus on individual children and their learning styles, a talented and creative staff, and open honest communication in a bold, cutting-edge community that is making a difference in Jewish education.

Exceptional academics, an engaging sense of community, and a strong commitment to social justice are the hallmarks of The Rashi School, the only Reform Jewish Day School in Massachusetts. Now in its third decade, Rashi has grown to 300 students in grades K-8.

Rashi offers a joyfully Jewish approach to learning; its top quality secular education is integrated with Jewish studies and infused with Jewish values. Teachers know each child and differentiate instruction to fit each child’s learning style. Students are welcomed into a warm, caring community of learners, in which they are encouraged to ask questions and to think critically and are inspired to play an active role in making our world a better place.

Now in its third decade, Rashi is moving in 2010 to a new building on a multi-generational campus on the Needham/Dedham line.
